Toggl Track integration

Toggl Track fills itself in, without you starting a timer

You keep Toggl Track, but you no longer have to press start. Okloq measures on your laptop which project you are working on. You approve, and the hours appear as time entries in your workspace.

After approval

What ends up in Toggl Track

  • A time entry with start and end timeOn the project with the project number in its name, in your name.
  • With your tagsThe type of work goes along as a tag, if that tag already exists in Toggl.

Setting up

What you need

  • Your workspace number, from the address after track.toggl.com/.
  • The API token from your profile in Toggl Track.

Okloq looks for the active project with the project number as a separate word in its name. If you use the same number for several clients, you can let Okloq search within one client.

We switch the integration on together with you and check the first day together in Toggl Track.

How Okloq works

No clock to start, no hours to dig up

Okloq looks at which window is in front and recognises the project number in the window title, the file name or the subject of an email. Whether you are drawing, designing, writing code or preparing a quote: the time goes to the right project. At the end of the day a proposal is ready. You approve it, and only then do the hours go to Toggl Track.

Which windows and files you had open stays encrypted on your laptop. Okloq does not read what you type and takes no screenshots. How it works

Good to know

A Toggl token belongs to one person. This integration therefore suits a freelancer, or a team where one person books to Toggl. Billable or not is not sent; you set that in Toggl itself. Toggl's free plan allows a limited number of requests per hour. With many entries at once, it then takes a little longer. Okloq runs on Windows 10 and 11; the Mac version is still in testing.

Questions about Toggl Track

What you want to know before you start

Why not just use the Toggl timer?

A timer only works if you start it and switch on time. Okloq measures automatically, and you only check at the end of the day. The differences are on Okloq or Toggl Track.

Can hours arrive twice in Toggl Track if something goes wrong?

No. If Toggl Track is briefly unreachable, Okloq tries again later. Before each attempt, Okloq first checks whether the entry is already there.

Does Toggl Track see when I was actually working?

No. Software that wants a start and end time gets one continuous day from a start time you set yourself. When you were actually working stays on your laptop.

Has the Toggl Track integration been tested?

The integration is built on the public API of Toggl Track and tested against a simulated environment. We are now testing it on real data with our first users. That is why we always switch the integration on together with you and check the first day together.

What does the Toggl Track integration cost?

We agree on that together. We set up the integration with you and test it on your own data. The PDF overview and the CSV file also work without an integration. Okloq's own prices are on the Pricing page.

Other integrations: Clockify · Harvest · Productive · Scoro · Everhour · Teamleader Focus

Toggl Track is a trademark of its owner. Okloq is not a partner of Toggl Track and is not endorsed by them; we use the public integration options.
