Okloq or Toggl Track? Or both
Toggl Track is a well-known time tracking app in which you mainly start a timer or enter hours yourself. Okloq does not start a timer: it recognises on your laptop which project you are working on and suggests your hours at the end of the day. They are not mutually exclusive: Okloq can put your approved hours into Toggl Track.
Side by side
The main differences
| Okloq | Toggl Track | |
|---|---|---|
| How hours are recorded | Automatically: Okloq recognises the project number in the window title, the file path or an email subject and suggests the day. You approve. | Mainly with a timer or by entering hours. There are aids that make it easier, such as a timeline of programs used and rules that start a timer on certain words. |
| What stays on the laptop | Everything that was measured: windows, file names, email subjects. Encrypted, and deleted after thirty days. Only approved hours leave the laptop. | The timeline is optional. With syncing on, Toggl keeps it on its servers for 90 days; with syncing off, it stays on the device. |
| Language | Dutch, English, German and French. | The web app is in English. Dutch is not available. |
| Dutch accounting software | Integrations with Moneybird, Exact Online, Simplicate, Gripp, e-Boekhouden, SnelStart, Jortt and more. | No built-in integration with Moneybird or Exact Online; possible through third-party tools. |
| Where the data is stored | Approved hours on servers in the EU. | Toggl lists Google Cloud in Ireland and Amazon Web Services in the United States. |
| Works on | Windows 10 and 11. The Mac version is in testing. | Browser, desktop apps for Windows and Mac, and phone apps. |
