Time tracking for freelancers

Your hours write themselves, you go home on time

You are the business owner, the professional and the admin department at once. Okloq takes over that last part: no timer you forget to start, no digging up hours in your email and calendar. At five o'clock a suggestion is ready.

How it works

No clock to start, no lists to keep

Okloq looks at which window is in front and recognises the project number in the window title, the file name or an email subject. Whether you are designing in Figma, editing photos in Lightroom, writing code or drafting a quote in Word: the time goes to the right project. You enter two or three example numbers, and Okloq works out what a project number looks like.

  • You approveAt the end of the day you tick the suggested hours. Only then do they go to your software.
  • A break is a breakAfter five minutes without keyboard or mouse, measuring stops. News and personal matters stay out of your hours.
  • Pause measuringIn the system tray you pause for fifteen minutes, an hour or until tomorrow.

After approval

Privacy

What you did stays yours

Which windows and files you had open stays encrypted on your laptop and is deleted after thirty days. Okloq does not read what you type and takes no screenshots. Only the hours you approve leave the laptop, to servers in the EU or directly to your software.

Good to know

Okloq measures time at the laptop. A photo shoot on location or a meeting at the client's is not included automatically; you add that time in the day overview. Okloq works on Windows 10 and 11; the Mac version is still in testing.

Questions from freelancers

What you want to know before you start

What does Okloq cost for a freelancer?

The Solo plan costs €15 per month, or €12 per month if you pay yearly, excluding VAT. There is no minimum. The first thirty days are free. Everything is on the Pricing page.

Does Okloq help with the Dutch hours criterion (urencriterium)?

Okloq records the hours you spend at the laptop on clients and internal matters. Time away from the laptop, such as travel or winning business on location, you add yourself. This is not tax advice.

Do I need accounting software?

No. Without it, you take your hours with you as a PDF report or CSV file.

What happens after the trial period?

After the last day the app stops measuring. Nothing is renewed automatically and no invoice follows.
